NEW HAUNTED HOUSE HALLOWEEN E-CARD

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chandler @ 10:53 am

Halloween is coming!   On Friday I picked up the boys wearing my witch’s hat.  There is something about costumes that instantly excites kids.   We zoomed home my broom, ok SUV and carved our first round of pumpkins.  While we carved away, I tried to convince them to dress up as Spongbob, Plankton and Mr. Crab but they refused!  Sigh… I’ll have to be Sandy the Squirrel all by myself.  The little ones of course want to be Batman and Robin and the teen is still deciding.

In the meantime, our first Halloween e-card is  on the site!    To turn this beautiful Victorian House into a frightful haunted house, click on our Haunted House ecard.

We have a  big batch of Halloween e-cards in production and we will be adding them to the site in the next two weeks.

If anyone has any Halloween cards they want to see made, let us know.

kitchen-game-blogMy nephew Robbie and my son Otis made their first Doozycard.  We wanted to encourage them to use their love of Youtube videos and internet games to inspire their Doozycard.  After posting the e-card, we were thrilled to tell them, their animated e-card is popular!  So we  proudly introduce our first birthday e-card made by internet-loving teenagers: The Find the Cake Game.

New Fall Fairy E-card

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chandler @ 11:08 am

Bennett and I love Fall especially because it’s so much fun to write the new Halloween cards and animate the beautiful, multi-colored Fall leaves.  Animated leaves can be gorgeous as they gently fall to the ground or surprisingly scary as they turn into bats! (See our new and upcoming Autumn and Halloween cards).   Our lovely little fairies can also be surprised by modern conveniences!  Check out what happens to our adorable plump fairy in Autumn Fairy Surprise animated greeting. This funny fall e-card  has been very popular already which makes us very happy.

My 3 boys and I will run through the leaves as soon as they hit the streets and even dive into a few leaf piles.  I also promised the kids we would make candy this Halloween.  Yipes! I know nothing about making candy so any tips, recipes or recommended websites would be much appreciated.  I found these websites which look very informative: candylandcrafts.com and baking911.com. Any suggestions on candy making or shared funny Fall leaf stories would be appreciated!

It’s always bitter sweet as summer comes to a close and the school year starts again.  Yesterday, we enjoyed a Labor Day BBQ with some friends. We savored the last of summer foods from the local farmer’s market. Fresh watermelon, burgers with roasted peppers and basil and for dessert, figs with brown sugar melted on top.   It was so delicious.

We pulled our three kids out of our friends’ pool and headed home, tired but ready to return to our fall schedules of early wake ups, Saturday soccer, Cub Scouts events, tennis tournaments, orchestra practice, homework, and more school activities.

This morning, our preschooler was sulking as he prepared to return to another year of preschool.  I told him he was the big boy and there would be younger kids crying on their first day.  We encouraged him to let the new kids know the school was a happy place and give them a hug if they needed one. Then, his six year old brother chimed in yelling that he would get stickers for being nice to the other kids.  Excitedly, our preschooler grabbed his lunch box to leave but then again became sullen as we tried to take his first-day-back-to-school pictures.  When my husband returned from dropping him off, I was relieved to find out he had entered the school happily, waving and smiling.

It was an emotional morning for us but now  I am back to work, snuggling in a sweater and some warm socks!  We have a big Fall planned at Doozycards.  We have over twenty new cards currently in production.  We are very excited to show you what we have been working hard on all summer.  As soon as we have our new line ready we will post it on the site.  Stay tuned and Happy Fall!
